Introduction

One of the most profound discoveries in physics is that the same force that causes an apple to fall to the ground also governs the motion of planets around the Sun. This force is called gravitation.

Gravitation is a universal force that acts between all objects with mass. Although it is relatively weak compared to other fundamental forces, it dominates at large scales such as planetary and astronomical systems.
