From Classical to Modern Physics

Classical mechanics is highly successful, but it has limitations.

Limitations

  • Does not describe motion at speeds close to the speed of light
  • Cannot explain atomic-scale phenomena
  • Fails for very small or very large scales

Transition to Modern Physics

These limitations led to new theories:

  • Relativity for high-speed motion
  • Quantum mechanics for microscopic systems
