Worked Example

Problem:
A particle moves along a straight line with:

$$ x(t) = 3t^2 + 2t $$

Find:

  • Velocity
  • Acceleration

Solution

Velocity:

$$ v = \frac{dx}{dt} = 6t + 2 $$

Acceleration:

$$ a = \frac{dv}{dt} = 6 $$
